Having problem with the high energy bill that you have to pay for each month? Perhaps gas wall heaters are one of the best answers for you! They are combustions heating units that work primarily with natural gas or propane fuels! With the gas fuel for the power supply, they not only will be great idea to keep the utility bill low but also will heat the room more powerful and continuously. Moreover, they are available in several models to choose from. We can use them to provide supplemental heat and also powerful enough to heat the large areas, depending on the size of the unit itself.

There are some homeowners that have opinion using gas wall heaters is not safe, particularly if compared to wall mounted electric heating units. But with the proper installation and maintenance they will keep working properly, safely and supplying economical and clean heat into your room during winter. And talking about combustion heating units then there are two major types that are vented models and unvented (vent-free or ventless) models. If you seriously concern to the safety, the vented design must be on your priority! Even there are several states that ban and prohibit using ventless units due to the safety issue. Furthermore, vented gas wall heaters are available in a variety of sizes, from 25,000 BTUs to 50,000 BTUs of power heating capacity. And for ventless units are usually available in relatively smaller of size, around 10,000-20,000 BTUs of power heating capacity!

What else you should know about gas wall heaters?

For the features, most of them are usually equipped with thermostats and electric blowers that can be functioned to maintain the discharge of the heat. In order to avoid accidentally burned, they use a grate of a helpful safety feature! There are also the ones that have a base to avoid damage to the room floor. And for the flame, we can choose two options, infrared flame for radiant heating and blue flame for efficiently heating (purposed for smaller rooms). And we can also find some of them with dual fuel design (propane & natural gas).

However, one thing that you have to know that they are not designed to heat the entire house! So, basically they are a single room heating unit! And vent-free models of them are relatively more portable because they don’t need the venting system and come with smaller in size. Once again, like mentioned before; it is much better to avoid using ventless combustion units for better safety issue! And if you feel your unit is not powerful enough, you can also consider using a pellet or coal stove in the location of a gas wall heater installed.

One of crucial things to take a look carefully is the size. Make sure the unit is sized correctly otherwise the unit will work poorly and not-powerful to heat the air! A unit with 50,000 BTUs in size is typically used for 1,500 sq-ft areas. And a small 20,000 BTUs heater is usually powerful enough to heat less than 800 sq-ft areas.

For a vented unit, it is so crucial and important to make sure that the venting is properly installed, otherwise will lead to a lot of energy loses!

And make sure all components of your wall gas heater are installed properly. Hire a professional & qualified installer if necessary to ensure the installation is properly finished. For better safety, use an Oxygen (O2) depletion sensor so thus you can keep controlling the level or volume of Oxygen in your room.

Sizing natural gas heater

The size of the power heating capacity of natural gas heater is usually measured and rated by the heating output in BTU (British Thermal Units) per hour. The size calculation is closely influenced to the large size of the house (for central heating) and the large room (for the room heating). Moreover, we should also consider the existing of insulation or not and the construction of the building itself.

Determining the BTU size for room heating is relatively easier than the calculation for central heating. Therefore, it is much recommended to hire and use an authorized gas heating contractor in your local area for the installation of central heating. The heating contractor will make the estimation about the amount of heat losses of the building. The heat losses can be can approximated by analyzing the number of windows & doors, the thickness of walls, the design of the roof & floor, and so on.

The next step can be the calculation with the right mathematical formula that will involve the ambient outdoor temperature, the large square feet of the area that will be heated (especially for space heating type), and the desired average indoor temperature. The mathematical formula that will be used is also dependent on the design of the natural gas heating system itself.

Whatever the method of the size calculation, the heating contractor should be able to give the correct amount of heat (the heat energy output in BTUs) for the installed natural gas heater to provide the powerful heating performance, particularly in the peak hour in the winter days.

In order to keep the optimal efficiency performance, the natural gas central heating should not be installed more than 25% higher than the peak-hour heating requirements. Instance, the system should not be installed no-higher than 106,250 BTU if the peak-hour heating need is around 85,000 BTU.

In a few cases, there are some homeowners who have opinion that the older existing system that will be replaced represents the correct BTU size! This is wrong assumption, because there are a lot of existing older boilers or furnaces that improperly sized. Therefore, it is better to ask to your heating contractor to completely re-calculate the size.

AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency) or energy efficiency ratings

Once you can figure out the size, now move to the next consideration (the efficiency performance of the new system that will be installed)!

Talking about the energy efficiency rating of natural gas heaters is often referred to AFUE! Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency is the ratio or comparison between the energy input (power supply) and the energy output (the heat energy for heating)! Higher level of this rating or this ratio indicates better efficiency performance of the system.

The older versions of boiler and furnace are typically lower in AFUE (mostly no greater than 65%). But today AFUE value of modern natural gas boilers or furnaces can be around 80-95 % for natural gas water heating systems and 78 percent or higher than 97% for forced-air heating systems.

Ventess gas heaters are one of popular selections if you are looking for a heating unit that can be installed more practically and easily. As well as the name suggests, although it is powered by gas fuel but it is designed ventless so thus we don’t need to vent the unit. However, this practical design also has a lot of disadvantages that we have to concern carefully in order to make sure we can use this kind of heater safely, otherwise there are many potential risks that can be so dangerous for you and your family. So what are the pros and cons of ventless gas heaters?

The working principle of ventless gas heaters

Once again, basically they can be categorized into room-heating unit that use gas fuel as power supply, but there is not required the vent air from the inside to the outside of the room. The amount of oxygen for the combustion of gas is supplied from the local air (inside of the room) where the heating unit is located (so the system still requires the enough volume of O2 for the combustion). The heated-air is vented back out from the unit directly. Ventless units are claimed will be able to work more efficient than gas vented-units because there are no energy losses due to no-‘outside air exchange’!

As well we know, most of regular combustion heating units need O2 for the burning process. They usually will take the unlimited fresh air from the outside to the inside of the unit, to sustain the burning process. There are also available some combustion heating units that don’t fully burn away the fuel source, like wood-burning stoves and pellet stoves. However, the carbon monoxide (one of byproducts of the combustion process) must be vented well in order to make sure it does not harm to anyone. Therefore they must be vented properly.

On the other hand, ventless gas heaters don’t need such a vent! But the exhaust of the heated combustion is directly vented into the area or room where the unit is located!

Pros of gas heaters with not-vented

Relatively easier to be installed since there is no vent! Even for portable models, they look more compact and handy to be moved from one room to another room.

Lighter in weight.

Once again, like mentioned before, they can work more efficient with no energy losses because of the venting mechanism.

With gas fuels (either for natural gas ‘methane’ or propane), they produce less harmful emissions, especially if compared to the kerosene heaters.

Cons of ventless gas heaters

Unfortunately, however the ventless design for combustion heaters can generate some potential harmful risks and hazards. Therefore, there are some states (like Massachusetts & California) that don’t allow using them!

Some dangers that can be caused from ventless system of gas heaters are asphyxiation, CO poisoning, fire accident, etc.

They can create a lot of vapor that can increase the humidity level of the room and make it be uncomfortable.

The last, in order to minimize any hazards of using ventless combustion heaters, it is better to also use some safety equipments, such as Oxygen depletion sensor and humidity sensor. Overall, there are available some other alternative options if you seriously want to use a unit that can work more efficient without ignoring the safety issue. So it is better to avoid using ventless gas heater!

There are now a lot of models of heating appliances to heat the air during winter. And when we are discussing about space heaters, they can be categorized into two major types that are vented & unvented combustion space heaters. For the second models (unvented combustion type) are not too recommended to be used inside of your lovely house, because they can lead a high risk of fire accident and other hazard chemical products such as CO (Carbon Monoxide) & Nitrogen Oxides! Moreover, they also can deplete ~the air in the space~ where we operate the unit. With these reasons, there are several regions and states which have not allowed the use of them (especially unvented “natural gas heaters and kerosene heating units”).

Then for vented combustion units are relatively safer than unvented models. They are usually installed permanently which usually located next to an outside wall, therefore we can use a ceiling to install the flue gas vent or we can also install it directly via the wall to the outside. Consider for -100 percent outdoor air- or sealed-combustion units, which usually are already designed with a duct to take outside into the combustion chamber. This point is one of the reasons why sealed combustions units are more recommended if we are looking for much safer units. With their different mechanism of not drawing in the heated air from the room & then exhaust it to the outside; they can work more efficient than other types of space heaters. Furthermore, they are also great selection to give positive effect to the indoor air quality.

Unsealed combustion units are relatively less expensive but also relatively less efficient and even can lead to a high risk of fire accident, because they are usually not designed with a sealed glass front that has important function to keep room air from the fire.

Well, there are general safety guidelines that you must consider as well to use safely any combustion space heaters, take a few minutes to read these pieces of helpful information below:

1. If you want to choose using liquid-fueled units then make sure to always choose only the approved fuel. Avoid using gasoline and don’t miss to check and read the manufacture’s fueling instructions. Don’t ever try to refill a unit that is still hot! Never overfill the unit; because this is so important for the expansion of the liquid-fuel. And always remember to only choose approved and qualified containers clearly marked for that particular fuel, avoid storing them indoors, you must store them outdoors.

2. Sign a contract for the proper maintenance with a local qualified heating contractor to inspect your unit, at least once a year. This professional inspection is so important to make sure there is no problem with your unit, such as to make sure your unit is vented properly and it can work properly. In addition, Carbon Monoxide can be produced and finally enters the room causing sickness and even death if the unit is not properly set up.

Gas heaters for heating swimming pool can be powered by propane or natural gas! And as well we know that there are now a lot of models of them with different performance of the efficiency to choose from. With a lot of gas heaters products in the marketplaces; you may be confused to determine the best one of them that can accommodate your requirement as well. Basically there are three important points to take into consideration; the size calculation, energy efficiency performance and cost of operation.

How do pool gas heaters work? Once the pump circulates and distributes the water of the pool, then the water will be drawn and directed to the heater, but the water usually will be directed to the filter first before directing into the heater. Then the heat will be produced from the combustion chamber, and will be transferred into the water (water heating process) that eventually will be returned into the pool. Most of them are usually more efficient to run in the short periods of time and able to heat the water quickly. Therefore, there are a lot of experts say that combustion pool heaters are great idea for heating swimming pool that are not utilized for a regular basis. Moreover, unlike solar models & heat pump systems, their performance is not dependent on the climate or weather.

Like mentioned before, there are 3 crucial issues that we have to consider carefully on choosing and using gas heaters for heating swimming pool, and below are pieces of helpful information about those points:

Size (BTUs) of power heating capacity

Below are simple steps to calculate the size output of gas heater that you should choose for your swimming pool:

First, determine the sq-ft large size of your pool!

Calculate the average ambient water temperature of your pool, especially in the pool heating season. Then calculate “the desired temperature – the average ambient temperature = the temperature rise”

Use this simple formula to determine output size of gas heater that you must choose “temperature rise x sq-ft large size x 12” (according to energysavers.gov)!

Energy efficiency!

Newer products of combustions heaters for heating swimming pool usually have already been designed with a standard test to determine & calculate the energy efficiency. And generally, this calculation is based on BTU output of the unit.

Theoretically, the energy efficiency of heaters is the ratio & comparison of used energy output to the energy input. This means, 90 percent efficient heating unit will use $90 worth of useful heat for each $100 worth of fuel, so we can get the conclusion that the unit will waste 20 percent of the fuel.

Nowadays, most of pool gas heaters are offered at around 95 percent to 89 percent efficiency. How much money that you can save for each $1,000 in annual heating costs of your pool by using combustion heating unit with 95 percent efficient? Check the table below:

*For every $1,000 in annual pool heating costs (Source: energysavers.gov)

Cost of operation

According to energysavers.gov, the cost of operation to run a combustion heater can be determined by the location. The cost is relatively inexpensive for indoor pool but on the other hand, it could be slightly more expensive for outdoor!

The following is the estimation heating cost table to estimate annual heating costs of using gas heaters for heating swimming pool, based on the water temperature, using pool cover or not, and location:

Source: energysavers.gov

What else you should know on using pool gas heaters:

Make sure the unit is correctly installed! Improper installation can lead to the inefficiency that eventually will create a higher utility bill that we have to pay for each month. Choose a qualified HVAC contractor for the installation

Don’t forget also to the maintenance. Check regularly the performance of filter and heat exchanger to keep the system run efficiently. It is much recommended to sign a contract with a local professional maintenance company for the maintenance, at least once a year.

Well, there are available several type and sizes of natural gas heaters. And therefore, you may be confused by this situation on choosing the best one. The following are 5 crucial steps that you have to consider carefully on choosing and installing natural gas heater.

Determine the right type to choose!

Like mentioned before, natural gas heaters are available in several types, from gas fireplaces or small units to central heating units.

Central heating; basically consists of three major separate units (unit to produce the heat, unit to distribute the heat, and unit to control regulate and control the heating process and distribution). As the name suggests, central heating is purposed for heating the entire home.

Forced-air heating units; they is one of the most popular types of natural gas heaters. They have 78 % of AFUEs ranging. And there are two different major types (based on the way to heat the air); air to be warmed up (heated) then distributed into the room, and air to mix with the gas combustion chamber.

Hydronic systems: they are water based heating system and as the name implies, they heat the room by heating the water and then the heated water will be distributed underneath the floor (through a system of pipes) to warm up the room.

The combination systems (typically space heating and water heating systems), the combination can be between hydronic system and forced-air, or between baseboard heating system and hydronic heating system.

Room space heater for supplemental heating of an existing central heating! This type is great idea to heat a room that is not often used! It can be a baseboard heater, wall-mounted heater or designed like a small fireplace.

Calculate the size!

The size is generally rated in BTUs (British Thermal Units). Determining and calculating the BTUs size is closely dependent to the large square feet of the area that will be heated. The other factor that can influence is the insulation, because a room that does not have a proper insulation will need more heat energy to be warmed up. Although the up-front cost for installing insulation can be expensive but if you seriously want to save more energy and get lower energy bill, it is much more recommended to install insulation.

For room natural gas heaters, the size calculation can be finished not too difficultly, you just need to measure the large square feet of your room then you can figure out the approximate size of the heater that you should choose.

On the other hand, for central heating, the size calculation can be more complex and more difficult. Therefore you may need to hire a qualified gas heating contractor in your local area. The procedures for the size calculation for this case include; the total sq-ft area that will be heated, the height of the ceiling, the number of window & doors, insulation, local climate, and so on.

Consider the venting mechanism!

Natural gas heaters are combustion heating appliances! Therefore, they must be properly vented to vent unfriendly pollutants, like carbon monoxide (one of byproducts of gas burning process). You can choose directly venting or conventional venting (chimney vents). Whatever the venting design that you choose, make sure it can be properly installed in your home and easy to be maintained.

For better safety, you can also use a stand-alone ODS (O2 Depletion sensor) to monitor the Oxygen level in your house!

Compare the costs!

This issue is divided into two crucial considerations; the up-front cost and the operating cost (the energy bill and the maintenance costs). Unfortunately it is difficult to reach ideal choice for both costs! The cheaper up-front cost of a natural gas heater can result higher operating costs, and on the other hand units that need expensive up-front cost will be friendlier on resulting lower operating costs.

But if the budget permits, it is better to install the high efficiency system that usually need higher up-front cost but will return your money on lower operating costs.

Furthermore, the same type of natural gas heaters that can work efficient in a certain area can be less efficient if installed in the different climate area. So, the local climate also has a significant contribution to the performance of the system. For more detailed information, it is better to discuss with a local gas heating contractor.

Select the right qualified heating contractor!

Below are helpful checklists to choose and find the right heating contractor:

Gather more information from your neighbors, your local gas utility company and other friends that can give any advances on choosing a qualified gas contractor.

The one that you choose should be properly licensed of recognized group!

Make sure the contractor that you choose will be familiar and completely understand about all equipment installation and local building codes & regulations, so thus the system can be installed successfully.

Make sure the installation is fully insured for saving more money in the future.

They should measure and estimate an amount of heat-loss and determine the correct size BTUs that must be installed.

Ask to all components of the heating system that will be installed, make sure all of them are the newest natural gas technology that can work more efficient, reliable and last longer.

Find some positive-feedback testimonials of the heating contractor! If you cannot find those testimonials then it is better to take a look for another contractor.

In many cases, most of garage areas are typically not insulated as well. In the winter season, it is usually relatively colder (with lower temperature) than other rooms of the house. On the other hand, in the summer it is usually hotter (with higher temperature) than other rooms of the home. Most of garages usually serve as the storage area for homeowners’ recreational items, tools or seasonal decorations! And as well we know, there are now a lot of garage heaters to choose from. Whatever your choice, make sure the unit will be able to work powerful. And if you seriously want to heat your garage efficiently without needing to pay high energy bill, garage gas heater is one of the best choices.

Some ideas to choose and find the best garage gas heater?

First, you have to calculate and measure the square feet large size of your garage! Measure the length and width correctly; then multiply each other to get the sq-ft large size of the area.

Then it is better to choose off-line shopping than on-line shopping. With off-line shopping you can choose the heater that meet to your requirement more clearly. Try to go to some home-improvement stores in your local area then gather a lot of information as much as you can. Then ask to an employee about what is the best-selling product of combustion heater for heating garage. Don’t miss to take a look at the catalog. You can also try visiting the official online sites of each manufacture to find discount prices or coupons. But if you are stiff to choose online shopping, make sure you purchase your unit in the credible online sites (like Amazon, eBay, etc) and don’t forget to read more reviews before making deal.

Then narrow your selection to the units that meet to your requirements! Consider some crucial issues, such as; energy efficiency rating, safety features (tip-over feature & fire protection control), programmable thermostat, etc.

Portable propane heating appliance

Most of propane heaters usually are powered by the pressurized gas and therefore they usually come with the pressurized tanks to store the propane fuel. They are not only popular for indoor heating appliances but also nice choice for outdoor purposes since their pressurized fuel tanks that make them can be moved from one place to others, easily. The big benefit that make many people have a reason prefer to choose and use them is the more affordable for the cost on energy utilities. The propane fuel is relatively cheaper than electricity. And in line with technological developments, today most of them are produced with modern technology that can work more efficient and friendly to our environment. They are offered in a wide range of prices and brands, thus the big question is how to find and choose the best one propane heater perfectly?

Finding and buying propane heaters that have good quality, particularly work at higher efficiency without ignoring the safety operation is not too difficult. But the big challenge is how to find one of them that also come with not too expensive price and friendly to your budget! However purchasing a propane heating unit is not too much different like when buying the other commonly heaters. Some crucial issues that usually consumers consider are; the size, features, safety features, the efficiency performance, costs, brands, the long warranty, and still many more. Let’s discuss more detail about how to select the best one of them that meets to your requirement on the guide below:

# Understanding the characteristics of propane heaters

Propane fuel is clean fuel and produce less byproduct of Carbon Monoxide when burn. The difficulty level of installation is dependent on the type of the unit itself. Portable models are usually designed to be re-installed easily and quickly. And basically, all type of them requires the adequate ventilation mechanism, particularly if you install them for indoor purposes.

The pressurized tank is the crucial point that you should concern carefully. There are many fire accidents due to the explosion of these tanks. Therefore, as possible… please to avoid storing the unit (especially the pressurized fuel tanks) in a location where close to the any open flame sources like fireplace, stove, water heating unit, etc. Since the combustion of propane fuel is still able to produce CO, ensure your unit is already equipped with ODS feature (oxygen detection safety pilot system) and the automatically shutdown feature that useful to make unit turn off itself while overheating.

One of the natural characteristics of propane is doesn’t have odor. Therefore the gas company usually adds the ethyl-mercaptan to make it has odor. The odor is helpful to detect and smell gas while there is leakage. It has higher mass-density, so if there is leakage, this gas usually flows on the floor of the room. Some frequently problems when using propane heating unit are the pilot-light that sometimes fails to stay lit which usually due to the thermocouple failure and some certain parts of the unit could be froze up easily.

# Finding the cheap one of them

Like mentioned before, seeking one of them that is offered friendly to your pocket and still promise high quality of features and efficiency performance is the big challenge! Your new unit is also should be able to accommodate your requirement as well.

First, calculate the size BTU of the unit correctly and finally meet to the large space of the area that you want to heat. According to the size category, propane heaters are available in three main options; triple (around 42,000 BTUs), single (around 14,000 BTUs) and double burner (around 28,000 BTUs).

The off-season (several month before and after the winter season), is the best time to find units that are offered at the cheapest prices.

Then, try to browse and search information on internet via some popular search engines like Bing or Google! If you are prefer to use the Google search engine, then choose the ‘shopping tab’ and then you can search by using keyword ‘cheap propane heater’ then you can get many result that so helpful for you to make a list and compare among the prices, features, and brands of different on-line stores or retailers.

Read and learn some real consumer testimonials to ensure the product that you are purchasing has positive feedback from the previous consumers. It is also simply tip but so helpful to analyze some units that are offered with unbelievable big discount rates. Don’t miss to consider also the long warranty and the total cost (including the shipping cost)!

The last always keep in mind that buying the cheap products is should not ignore the quality and the safety. The quality is closely related to the costs that you will pay in long term and the safety is so important to keep far away from unwanted potential hazards.

It is undeniable that gas fuel is one of the alternative favorite fuels that being popular at this time as source energy for heating and cooling every year. We can find various types of gas heaters in the market, and gas ventless heater units are one of those various types. There are several reason why should try to buy the best one unit of them. These types offer good value benefits and advantages that we cannot find in other types. In addition, probably they are relatively new models to you and your family of home heating appliances.

As obviously their name, gas venltess heaters don’t need to install vent mechanism, and surely this mechanism is the unique characteristic of them that distinguishing to other regular gas heating units. Factually, you can find them are available in many variety types in the market. You can also select the best one unit of their variety styles that finally meet to the decoration of your room perfectly.

Basically, they can be classified in several options. Kerosene, propane, and methane (natural gas) are the most popular of the based fuels of them. Choosing the right fuel depends to your preference. Kerosene units are not too recommended today because this fuel is not friendly to the environment (result CO byproduct and a distinct odor but free of residue). Propane and natural gas are more advisable than kerosene because they are cheaper (more stable in price) and cleanly or free of odor, residue and produce less Carbon Monoxide (CO) as one of byproducts of the fuel combustion.

Gas ventless heaters have two major models of their installation. First is the freestanding models (ideal to heat small room and individual usage), usually these models can be finished easier with DIY installation option. Freestanding models usually also familiar call as portable heating appliances that can be moved from one room to others not too difficultly (therefore usually propane fuel that store into pressurized tank is the dominated fuel type of them). Freestanding models are great option for people who like to get free installation cost and can heat the spot space of the room more specifically.

Second is the mounted on the wall models that usually require just little bit more complicated mechanism installation but more powerful (capable to heat medium room or even larger room) than freestanding models. For the best result for the finishing installation of these models, by hiring a qualified heating contractor is so recommended.

Ventless gas heater units also offer plus value to minimize the space installation usage in your room (especially for freestanding units). Theoretically, they are designed can work more effectively and efficiently than other regular gas heaters and the conventional wood heaters. But there are several important points that you should consider to make ensure their performance keep optimal.

The qualified energy efficiency of the unit, the maintenance, and the finishing installation (especially you concern about it if you choose to use the mounted on wall model) are several important factors that can influence their performance significantly. Don’t forget also to choose the right size (usually in BTU) of the unit which you want buy will meet to the large space size of your room (not lower or over size).

However using gas heating units are not as safe as like if you use electric heaters. There are several important issues that you must concern to get the guarantee of the safety operation. Most of the potential hazards usually are caused from the improperly usage and the improperly maintenance. Therefore make ensure you read and learn first the manufacture’s guideline procedure how to operate and do the maintenance to your unit properly. As long as you obey those procedures well, you can use gas ventless heater safely, noiseless and more efficient to cut the energy bill monthly than if you choose to use electric heating devices.

radiant tube heater

Radiant tube heaters also familiar look as gas heaters (either use propane or natural gas) which usually are hung near the ceiling. Some people still confuse to definite and distinguish between radiant tube heater units and radiant brooder. Radiant tube heaters are also called as radiant tube brooders because they can be installed in the brooding areas. But they don’t have same mechanism system to the radiant brooders.

They can be the single as heating device in our house. If we have forced air heater then they also can be combined too. The standard designs of their metal tube usually have long range between 12 meters and 15 meters. Metal tube has function as liaison to firebox. Firebox is usually as source heat of the unit that can reach hot temperature up to more than 500 degrees Celsius. And 12 meters of the central firebox, the temperature can reach approximately more than 200 degrees Celsius.

Discuss about radiant tube heaters, then usually we will discuss about the radiant heat principles. Well, we know in physics theory that there are three methods of the heat distribution that are radiation, convection, and conduction. In radiation method, use visible rays or infrared to transfer the heat. So far, in space heating technology, use radiation and convection method to distribute the heat. Radiant heating has different heating principles than forced air heating. Usually forced air heaters use convection heat distribution to make warm temperature all around space of the room, but radiant heater units usually heat object directly.

But we should know that radiant heaters not distribute heat 100 percent with radiant principles. They still use the convection principles, but the dominate way distribution heat is still with radiant principles. Therefore usually they can heat space quickly than others, and ideal to heat object directly not air. They also put out a very high percentage of their heat energy because they have more radiating surface area, and this condition as well as we find to the radiant tube heaters.

Radiant tube heaters are better than other as heating device, although they usually install in ceiling but can heat in the bottom space of the room. So the temperature of the floor will increase early than others space of the room. It so benefit to object, because can get the warm air early. They are also better than radiant brooder units, because they have the heat source that can be mounted in higher position place of the house like ceiling (It is helpful to make them can work better in heating mechanism than radiant brooders.). And they can save our management time with fewer heating appliances and many fewer adjustments to be made. They are easier for the maintenance because usually they have not-many dust builds up in their burners and normally draw fresh.

Radiant tube heaters also capable to integrate to electronic controllers as long as we obey the cautions about placing temperature sensor properly and also don’t forget to observe and analyze the setting of target temp. We can choose types of them, dual stage heaters or single stage heaters. As add information, usually tube heaters can operated with 240 volts, 120 volts, and 24 volts. It depends to the types of tube heaters.

And the last, when you want to purchase one of radiant tube heaters, don’t forget to consider about the material types and the engineering design. Because these factors usually influence significantly to the performance of the unit.
