The working principle of convector; ‘the surrounding air is directed into the unit via openings that are designed and placed at the bottom of convector, then will be heated by heating elements & will be transferred into the room via the air grille positioned at the top surface of the convector’. Before installing your electric convection heater, one of crucial points that we must consider is about the size!  Moreover, you should also understand about the thermostat types! Below are pieces of helpful information of simple guide on how to install electric convection heater properly!

Sizing and thermostat types!

As well we know, there are several sizes of power output capacities to choose from! You can use a simple formula to calculate the size of the unit that you should choose! Theoretically, 10 Watt will be powerful enough to heat 1 square foot, so thus if you have 120 square feet of the room you should choose a unit that has at least 1200 Watt of power heating capacity. You choose the higher size if your room does not have a proper insulation in order to make sure the unit will work powerful enough. And for thermostat, there are available two popular options, wall mounted thermostat and integrated thermostat.

Pros and cons of integrated thermostat: It is able to provide constant heater due to the position of this type that are close enough to the room floor, but unfortunately it is harder enough to reach, especially if compared to wall-mount type. In addition, you can also find wall mount thermostats that are designed with programmable thermostat feature to set the heater work continuously without needing manual assistance to turn on and turn off. So with this feature, you can set the unit to turn on and turn off automatically as well as your requirements.

How to install an electric convention heater?

(1). First, make sure the unit is completely turned off for better safety! It is basic step that can be so useful to avoid any risks of serious electrical accidents.

(2). Now take a look at the wall bracket and then install it properly! This step is the beginning of the actual installation mechanism of convector. You can see the picture below!

(3). Then hold in the wall & give a mark through the middle screw holes, this step is purposed to determine the accurate installation of wall bracket! To make a horizontal line, you can utilize a level. Make sure to locate the bracket at least 100 millimeters from another wall and 176 millimeters off the room floor.

(4). Utilize a proper stud detector to position a stud and then don’t miss to give a clearly mark!

(5). Then take a look at the bracket’s lower screw holes and then align them on the horizontal line and also one side of bracket if necessary, and use the vertical mark to give a clearly mark! Make sure the bracket is properly positioned by also screwing it into the wall! You can also use hollow wall anchors if necessary for better result, especially if there is not available stud at the location of the installation.
