1. The sediment problem will decrease the performance of the unit therefore you should remove those sediments regularly. You can use a descaler to do this procedure easier.
2. For better result when removing the sediments, you can use softened water (but avoid using salt softened water).
3. Then do the maintenance for the plumbing fittings. This procedure is useful to avoid the leaks of the T&P valve.
4. Then check about the steel connections. Theoretically when the steel touches brass (or copper) then will create rust problem and this condition will make the steel connection cannot work well. Therefore you should check the steel connection regularly to prevent the correction.
5. For the better result, don’t forget to check broken nipples and electric heating elements. This procedure is just little bit more advance procedure therefore you should extra carefully when do this point.
